Dr. Devang Patel graduated from UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 1998.
He did his Internal Medicine & Sub-Specialty Training in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, where he is a Senior Attending Physician in the Division of Gastroenterology.
After completing his training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology, he started his private practice. It was then that he began to take an interest in Bariatric Medicine & trained under multiple Bariatric Surgeons involved in the Pre-Peri- and Post-Operative Management of Bariatric Surgery patients. He has become a pioneer in the new and rapidly evolving sub-specialty of Bariatric Medicine and Bariatric Gastroenterology.
Dr. Devang Patel has highly developed his expertise in the comprehensive management of bariatric patients; both the medical & endoscopic challenges that these patients face. He also enjoys general Gastroenterology & Hepatology as well.
He has been in Solo Private Practice in Middlesex County, NJ since grauating from Fellowship Training in 2003. He sees all patients, himself. He does not use physician extenders ( i.e. physician assistants or nurse practictioners) as he strongly believes in the physician- patient relationship with out intermediaries.
